Made from a 2" slab of European walnut, and finished with a food safe, plant based oil and wax, this is a functional chopping board and a piece of sculpture. 
 
This chopping board was hand crafted using an offcut from a hefty two-inch thick board of European walnut. The shaping process involved a number of tools: a band saw to rough out the shape; a spokeshave to shape the curved neck of the handle; a hand plane and sandpaper to burnish the walnut to a smooth, polished finish.
